Many air travellers have problems getting a good sleep on board. Here are a few tips to significantly increase the quality of your sleep:
|
 |
|
-
Start your journey wide awake. Don’t try to tire yourself out thinking that you’ll then fall asleep more easily on the aircraft: it just doesn’t work for most people.
-
Wear loose, comfortable clothing: nothing too restrictive. And pack a warm pullover.
-
Give yourself as much legroom as possible; don’t limit your freedom of movement with luggage.
-
Move about occasionally. Brief walks around the aircraft help your blood circulation and thus promote healthy sleep.
-
An inflatable neck cushion will help avoid a stiff neck in the morning.
-
Fasten your seatbelt so the crew can see it easily – ideally over your blanket – so they won’t need to wake you up if the “Fasten seatbelt” light comes on.
-
On night flights in Business Class you’ll be given a night kit containing an eyemask, earplugs and warm socks – everything you need for a good sleep.
