The airline has just launched a scheduled service to Amman, which will operate three times a week from Vienna. | Austrian Airlines Unveils New Training Center

Toronto – September 23, 2008: Last week, Austrian Airlines inaugurated its new Training Center -- the third and final complex of its Vienna Aviation Campus. Designed by ARGE BWM Architects and Partners, the building was constructed around a “sky” theme, with 870 glass panels in three different shades of blue that change appearance according to the weather and time of day. With the opening of this building, Austrian Airlines is now able to train all its staff at a single location – a unique concept in Europe, but one which Austrian affirms is necessary for the continued high quality operation of the airline.

Toronto – August 22, 2008: Austrian Airlines has placed First in the categories of Business Class Catering and Cabin Staff in a worldwide survey conducted by Skytrax – a British consulting company. The results were drawn from more than 15 million air passengers from 95 countries around the world.
This is the second year in a row that Austrian Airlines has won First Place in the “Catering in Business Class Long-Haul” global category. Austrian Airlines has a long history of employing Austrian and internationally renowned chefs to design its in-flight gourmet menus and features trained “on-board sommeliers” as well as a distinctive Viennese coffee house service in business class – all of which set it apart as unique and superior in the eyes of its passengers.
Winning First Place in the “Cabin Staff of Europe” category underscores the success of Austrian’s “we care” philosophy – again, making the company unique in comparison with international competitor airlines.

Toronto – March 31, 2008: Austrian Airlines today marks the 50th anniversary of its inaugural flight from Vienna to London, which took off on March 31, 1958 aboard a jet-prop Viscount.
Fifty years later, Austrian is a member of the prestigious Star Alliance and operates more than 100 aircraft on flights to more than 130 destinations. The airline, which transported 25,567 passengers in 1958, carried 10.8 million passengers in 2007. “One of Austrian’s many strengths,” says Paul Paflik, Austrian Airlines’ General Manager for North America, “remains its centrality in the heart of Europe.” Austrian connects the world with dozens of cities in Eastern Europe, Russia and the former Soviet republics. “And unlike the nightmare of connecting through Europe’s mega-airports,” observes Paflik, “Vienna International Airport is compact, convenient and efficient.”

Austrian to Serve 7 Cities in Russia
Airline Flies to More than 20 Destinations in Former Soviet Union

Toronto, January 10, 2008:- Vienna-based Austrian Airlines is further expanding its already extensive network of flights to Russia and the countries that made up the former Soviet Union, says Paul Paflik, Austrian’s General Manager, North America. In April, Austrian will commence service to both Sochi and Nizhniy Novgorod – increasing the total number of Russian cities served to seven.
Marking its 50th anniversary this year, Austrian was one of the first western airlines to serve Moscow. The airline also flies to St. Petersburg, Krasnodar, Rostov and Yekaterinburg.
A member of the Star Alliance, Austrian is known for its vast network in Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Asia, as well as for its superior transatlantic service that features an on-board chef to present six-course meals. Flights from Vienna to Sochi and Nizhniy Novgorod will be operated by Fokker 70 aircraft.
