Airport charges and taxes |
Airports normally levy charges for the services they provide for passengers. These charges are made by the airline on a per passenger basis and subsequently transferred to the airports. These charges can differ widely by their nature and level.
The charges are added to the price of your ticket. If you book online, the charges for your chosen flight will be indicated on the fare page. |

To enable you to inform yourself in advance about any possible charges at your desired destination, we have provided an overview of the charges at Austrian Airlines destinations here. These are arranged by country.
- Charges are normally payable upon departure. In some cases, however, these are also levied upon arrival at the airport. Where this is the case, this will be specifically pointed out.
- In Western Europe in particular, the charges for departures and transfers can sometimes differ. Where this is the case, this will be specifically pointed out.
- The charges are determined in a specified currency (local currency, USD or EUR) and converted at the daily exchange rate into the currency in which the passenger is to pay for the ticket.
- In the majority of cases, infants without their own seat are exempt from the charges. Reductions sometimes apply for children up to the age of 12. Where this is the case, this will be specifically pointed out.
