Security and service standards at Check In

 

Flights to USA and Flights from or via U.K.

     

    Due to increased security measures for flights to/from US passengers are allowed to take one piece of hand baggage (not exceeding 55x40x23cm) on board an aircraft.

    You may bring along on board:

    pocket size wallets and pocket size purses plus content, travel documents (passport, tickets), personal medical supplies required for the flight as well as prescription medicine with a name that matches the passenger´s ticket, essential other non-prescription medicines not exceeding 120ml per container, liquids or gels for diabetic passengers who indicate a need for such items to address their medical condition (up to 148ml per container), spectacles and sun glasses without cases, contact lens holders, neutral salt solution, sanitary items sufficient and essential for the flight, keys (no electronical key supplies), food and milk for babies and small children as well as solid foods (also fruits, sweets, except foodstuff in tubes) and solid cosmetics.

    Please note:  you are also allowed to carry liquids, sprays or gels with you (up to 90ml per item). Those items have to fit in a reclosable and transparent 1litre plastic bags and will be checked seperately at security control. Austrian Airlines is providing such plastic bags at the departure gates.

    Please note, that the following security measures are valid with immediate effect:

    You may bring along one piece of hand luggage (not exceeding 55x40x23cm) with the following items:

    food and milk for babies or small children, prescription medicine with a name that matches the passenger´s ticket, essential, prescription (or children´s) liquid medicine (up to 50ml) which has been verified as safe by being tasted by the passenger or examined by an airport pharmacist. Further: solid cosmetics (lipstick in a tube, solid deodorant, lip balm) and solid food (also fruits and sweets except foodstuff in tubes, e.g. yoghurts, compote, mustard).

Flights to Canada

  • Flight document control at Check In for local passengers and at boarding gate in Vienna for transfer passengers

No increased security measures apply for Flights to Canada.

Please note, that increased security measures occur for Flights from and via Canada:

food and milk for babies and small children, prescription medicine with a name that matches the passenger´s ticket, essential other non-prescription medicines not exceeding 120ml per container, to include saline solution and eye care products such as eye drops and contact lens solution. Further: liquids and gels for diabetic passengers who indicate a need for such items to address their medical condition (up to 148ml per container), solid cosmetics (solid lip balm, lip stick, solild deodorant) and solid food, fruits, sweets except foodstuff in tubes and similar.
