| Transportation of animals |

Cats and dogs may be taken into the aircraft |
Cats and dogs may be taken into the aircraft cabin; other animals may not. Only one animal may travel on board each flight, except for two animals with experience of one another and being transported in the same container, e.g. two kittens. The exceptions to this rule are the aircraft types A 330 and A340, on which one animal each may be transported in both Business Class and Economy Class (or two in total). |

Size and weight |
The maximum weight is 8kg per container, and the container must fall within the hand luggage measurements of 55 x 40 x 23 cm. Animals must be transported in a watertight container. These regulations apply to all flights carried out by Austrian Airlines. The regulations applied by other airlines may differ. |

Transportation of larger animals |
Other or larger animals may be transported in the hold of the aircraft on which the passenger is travelling, but the animal cannot be supervised in the hold. The price varies according to the applicable excess luggage charges.
It is not possible to transport animals in the hold of the aircraft types Dash 8/400 and Canadian Jet, and restrictions apply on the Fokker 70. |
